Certain PDF files will not import into PaperFlowmain image

Description

When importing certain PDF files into a PaperFlow batch, the PDF may not be imported nor display an error message. This is due to the PDF using an “advanced” format, such as certain textual-based PDF’s. (NOTE: image-only PDF’s generally do not fall into this “advanced” category.)

Summary

PaperFlow imports image-only PDF files by default, but you can enable the import of PDF’s that make use of the advanced format. Enabling this option may increase batch storage capacity due to larger PDF file sizes, even for image-only PDFs.

Perform the following steps to enable the import of advanced PDFs into PaperFlow:

  1. Shut down PaperFlow completely, including from the System Tray.
  2. Edit the PaperFlow.exe.config file using Notepad. This file is usually located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Digitech Systems\PaperFlow.NET folder.
  3. Search for and edit the following line (~line 10): <batchConfiguration/>                                                                                                                                                                                                                            To read:    <batchConfiguration disableAdvancedPDF="false" />
  4. Save and close the file.
  5. Launch PaperFlow and open the applicable batch.
  6. Advanced PDFs should now import into a batch successfully.
