Error -2147216990: File not found during scanning

Description


When attempting to scan into PaperFlow, a user receives the following message:

Error -2147216990: File not found.

 

Summary


This message typically indicates a problem with the scanner driver and the driver likely needs to be reconfigured and/or reinstalled.

To resolve this, follow the steps below:

  1. With PaperFlow closed, open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows
  2. Rename the file Setscan.ini to Setscan.old
  3. Log into PaperFlow, open a data group and re-select the scanner
  4. Attempt to scan, if the scanner functions properly, no further changes are required.

If the scanner continues to error, you will need to reinstall the scanner drivers:

  1. Ensure you have a drivers disk for your scanner, or download the latest driver from the scanner manufacturer’s website
  2. With PaperFlow closed, open Windows Explorer and navigate to C:\Windows
  3. Rename the file Setscan.ini to Setscan.old
  4. Uninstall the current scanner driver from Control Panel
  5. Reboot the computer and reinstall the scanner driver
  6. Log into PaperFlow, open a data group and re-select the scanner
  7. Attempt to scan and the error should now be resolved, if the error persists please contact technical support
