Error -2147220482: TwainPro Error. Illegal Operation has occurred. PegasusImaging.TWAINPRO.4

When scanning into PaperVision Enterprise, the following error is returned: “Error -2147220482: TwainPro Error. Illegal Operation has occured. PegasusImaging.TWAINPRO.4”

This is often an indication that the Twain scanner driver or configuration file is missing or corrupt.

To troubleshoot and resolve the issue, perform the following steps:

  1. Turn the power off to the scanner.
  2. Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs. Uninstall the driver for the applicable scanner.
  3. Click Start > Run and type in the following command: %System Drive%Documents and settings[CURRENT USER]local settingsapplication dataDigitech SystemsPaperVision.
  4. Locate and rename the TwainSettings.xml file (ex: TwainSettings.xml.old).
  5. Shut down and reboot the computer.
  6. Once the computer has restarted, ensure the scanner is still powered off, then re-install the latest scanner driver from the manufacturer.
  7. Once the driver has been installed, turn the scanner back on. Verify that Windows has found the new driver and returns a message (found in the System Tray) that the driver has been installed.
  8. Re-scan the necessary pages and upload them to PaperVision Enterprise.
