Description


Users are unable to email documents from PaperVision. This error is thrown after clicking the Email button:

Summary


This error message is not directly associated to UAC (User Account Control), but more likely an issue with Internet Explorer running in Protected Mode. This prevents PaperVision from launching the default email application, since it prohibits access to the user’s profile stored on the computer.

To resolve this issue, use one of the options below:

  • If PVE is running on the local intranet it will most likely be added to the Trusted Sites list, but if Protected Mode is enabled it may still cause some issues.
  • To turn Protected Mode off in Internet Explorer 8, go to:
    • Tools->Internet Options->Security, then highlight Local Intranet and remove the check mark for Protected Mode.
  • If PaperVision is located on an external web server (e.g. ImageSilo), simply add the URL (https://login.imagesilo.com) to the list of Trusted Sites. This will bypass Protected Mode.
