Error 32053 Description: MAPI Failure: valid session ID does not exist. Source: SendMAPIEmailmain image

Description

When attempting to use the email button inside of the PaperVision Document Viewer Controls, the user receives a MAPI Failure message on Windows 7. The email application is MAPI compliant, and may function successfully on other operating systems.

Summary

This is caused by User Account Control (UAC) blocking access to Microsoft Outlook (or other MAPI compliant mail applications). The error is then returned by PVE since it cannot validate the login.

To resolve this follow the steps below:

  1. Uninstall the PaperVision Document Viewer Controls
  2. Navigate to Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety (Depending on view and/or version of Windows 7) > Click on User Accounts > Click Change User Account Control Settings
  3. Slide the scroll bar to Never notify and reboot the computer
  4. Reinstall the PaperVision Document Viewer Controls and you should now be able to send emails successfully.

Note:

If you are experiencing this issue and are running a version newer than R66 please reference KB article ID: PE000107 for a possible resolution.
