When attempting to connect to an existing database, a user may receive the following message: PaperVision was unable to connect to the SQL Server. The connection attempt returned the following message: Login failed for user “SA”. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.

Summary

This message indicates that the SQL Server has been configured to only use Windows Authentication, but a username was entered in the connection parameters. Both the username and password must be blank to connect to a SQL Server using Windows Authentication.
