Description

This article describes how to silently install the PaperVision Web Assistant document viewer. This is useful for System Administrators that want to deploy the application to multiple client computers with no user intervention. Note that different versions require additional pre-requisite installations, as noted below.

Summary

Prerequisites for all versions:

.NET Framework 4.0 (or higher)

Prequisites for R76-R79: The Visual C++ 2005 SP1 (x86) Redistributable Package must be installed on the target machine(s) first. The install can be downloaded from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347. Download and install the vcredist_x86.exe file.

Prerequisites for R80-R81: The Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26347 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86) from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328.

Prerequisite for R86.0.0.21 or higher: The Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 (x86) Redistributable Package from http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48145.

The PaperVision Enterprise Web Assistant installation file can be accessed from the Downloads section of a PaperVision Enterprise website, or from a network share. For workstations that have the User Account Control (UAC) enabled, the installer must be run with elevated permissions.

To install, open a command prompt using the Run as administrator option and enter: “<path>PaperVision Client.exe” /S /v/qn (OR "<path>PaperVision Web Assistant.exe /S /v/qn" for R83.5 or earlier). Please note there are spaces before and after /S but not /v/qn. Once the application is installed, the PaperVision Web Assistant icon will be displayed in the system tray on the target machine and is automatically connected. The Web Assistant can also be accessed from the Start menu in the Digitech Systems Program Group.
