Description

Users may be prompted for their Window’s user name and password when browsing to the Authentication Gateway web site. To fix this issue, users need to change the user authentication security settings in Internet Explorer.

Summary

Internet Explorer has numerous security settings, including user authentication settings. These settings will vary based on the current security level. There is a User Authentication security setting, Logon, which is causing users to be prompted for their user name and password. The Logon setting must be changed in order for the Authentication Gateway to function properly.

Follow these steps to modify the Internet Explorer Security Level:

  1. Open Internet Explorer
  2. In the Tools menu, select Internet Options
  3. Browse to the Security Tab
  4. Click the Custom level button
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the Security Settings window. Under User Authentication, select “Automatic logon with current user name and password” for Logon
  6. Click OK to close out the two open windows and browse to the Authentication Gateway web site
