A data group is a database-type file that keeps track of index values and where images associated with those indexes are located. The most common types of data groups are .XML and .MDB files, as shown below.

Once the data group has been uploaded into PaperVision Enterprise, ImageSilo, or PaperVision.com, the database file will have been copied over along with the image files. The image files will still be linked to the database file even after the copy due to the path for the images in the file being relative to database file.
