Description

When attempting to create a new batch, you receive the message: You cannot create a batch because you do not have access to any job start steps.

Summary

This message indicates that the user currently logged in has not been assigned to any job start steps for any active jobs, and therefore cannot create any batches.

To resolve this follow the steps below:

  1. Log in to the PaperVision Capture Admin Console.
  2. Click on "Capture Jobs" and select the job for which you want the user to be able to create batches.
  3. Click “Check Out Job” to check out the job and open it in the Job Definition Studio.
  4. Select the Capture step where you want the user to be able to create batches.
  5. Right-click on the step and select Properties.
  6. Ensure that “Is Start Step” under the General section is set to True.
  7. Click on “Assigned To” under the General section and click the ellipsis button that appears to the right of it.
  8. Put a check mark next to the users and/or groups you want to have access to this step.
  9. Ensure the job is activated and check in the job.
  10. Log in to the Operator Console as one of the users assigned to the step and click "New Batch." You should now be presented with a New Batch window and have the ability to create a batch.
