Description

A user receives the following error while attempting to restore a Data Delivery database: “An exception occurred while executing a Transact-SQL statement or batch. (Microsoft.SqlServer.Express.ConnectionInfo)

Additional Information: The file on device “Path to .bak file” is not a valid Microsoft Tape Format backup set. RESTORE HEADERONLY is terminating abnormally. (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 3242)”


Summary

This error is returned when a user attempts to restore a Data Delivery database to a different version of Microsoft SQL Server. ImageSilo currently uses Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 to create Data Delivery backups.  This same version of Microsoft SQL Server must also be installed on the client’s machine attempting to restore the Data Delivery database.
