Service Unavailable is displayed when attempting to view the PaperVision website.


When attempting to access the PaperVision login page, the following message is displayed: “Service Unavailable”.

This is generally only a problem in earlier versions of IIS on Windows Server 2003.


This is caused by having either a bad or missing installation of ASP.NET.

  1. Ensure the Microsoft .Net Framework is installed
    1. Launch Windows Update (or Microsoft Update)
    2. Install all updates for Microsoft .Net Framework
    3. Once all updates are installed, access Windows Update again to verify no additional updates are available
    4. Repeat until all updates are installed
  2. Install ASP.NET
    1. Open Control Panel and select Add or Remove Programs
    2. Select Add/Remove Windows Components
    3. Highlight Application Server and click Details
    4. Highlight Internet Information Services (IIS) and click Details
    5. Enable Active Server Pages and click OK
  3. Once the installations are complete, access the PaperVision Enterprise login page and you should now be able to log in successfully
