The dynamic link library Stamin32.DLL could not be found in the specified path.

Description


When launching the PaperVision Distribution Assistant, a user may receive the following message:

The dynamic link library Stamin32.DLL could not be found in the specified path.

Summary


This problem occurs when the user logged into Windows is not a full administrator on the machine.  When Distribution Assistant is run for the first time, it needs to install and register some DLL’s for the product to function properly. The recommended way to fix this issue is to log out of Windows and log in as a full administrator on the machine and run the application again. Once the PaperVision Distribution Assistant application has successfully been run once as an admin, it should then function for any user on that system.

A user can also manually register the file to resolve this issue. Follow these steps to manually register the file:

  1. Click the Windows Start button and select Run
  2. Type the following command: REGSVR32 C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\STAMIN32.DLL
  3. Press Enter to execute the command
  4. Once registered, attempt to run Distribution Assistant again and it should now function for any user on this system.
