Windows Authentication is the default authentication mode for Microsoft SQL Server, and is considered more secure than SQL Server Authentication. PaperVision Enterprise supports the use of Windows Authentication for Microsoft SQL Server connections.

When attempting to view a document in the browser-based viewer, the following message is displayed in place of the document image: The following error(s) occurred! Due to certain browsers’ limitations and potential security concerns, this annotated image cannot be displayed.

Disable the Browser Based Viewer option and enforce the use of the PaperVision Web Assistant for viewing documents.

When a user configures the PVESearchURL.aspx script with a UserName parameter that contains a backslash (e.g. domain\username) the following error is returned even though the included the correct UserName and Password: "The system could not log you on. Make sure your User Name and Entity ID are correct, then type your password again. Letters in passwords must be typed using the correct case."


If a user’s IE settings do not properly update stored versions of the PaperVision Enterprise web pages, the user may experience problems when attempting to login and access PVE after a new release.

When attempting to access the PaperVision Authentication Gateway, the user receives the following error:
Error message thrown when hitting the PaperVision Enterprise Authentication Gateway: “HTTP Error 404.0 – Not Found The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its named changed, or is temporarily unavailable.”

This error message is generated when the specified Redirection URL is invalid within the PaperVision Gateway Settings configuration, such as http:\\www.papervision.com\ or \\www.papervision.com\.


When attempting to search for documents in PaperVision Enterprise, after clicking Search, the “Working” dialog box remains on the screen with no error message and the search results page doesn’t display.

When attempting to view a document in the Browser-Based Viewer, the following error is displayed: ImageGear.Web.UI.ImGearHttpException: Unable to load the specified image. The PaperVision Web Assistant is able to view documents without error.
